Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has released the official notification for the recruitment of 291 Generalist and Specialist Officers for various scales for the year 2026-27. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. HRDD/RECT/04/2026-27, dated 28 August 2026.

The IOB Recruitment 2026 drive includes vacancies across 14 posts in JMG Scale I, MMG Scale II and MMG Scale III. IOB Recruitment 2026 Salary

Selected candidates will be appointed in the respective officer scales and will receive basic pay along with applicable allowances and benefits.

In addition to basic pay, eligible officers may receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) and other benefits as per the applicable bank rules.

IOB Exam Qualifying Marks

The minimum qualifying marks in the Online Examination are:

• 35% for General/Unreserved candidates
• 30% for Reserved category candidates

There is no minimum qualifying mark prescribed separately for English Language and General Awareness. Candidates must obtain the required qualifying marks in the Professional Knowledge section.

Negative Marking

There will be a penalty for incorrect answers. One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each wrong answer. No marks will be deducted for questions that are not attempted.

Interview

Candidates who qualify for the Online Examination will be called for the Personal Interview.

The Interview carries 100 marks and assesses areas including:

• Subject knowledge
• Communication skills

The minimum qualifying marks in the Interview are 50% for unreserved candidates and 45% for reserved candidates.

Final Selection

IOB will prepare the final merit list by giving:
