SSC CPO SI Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil the prescribed SSC CPO eligibility criteria before applying.

Nationality

A candidate must be:

  • A citizen of India; or
  • A subject of Nepal; or
  • A subject of Bhutan.

Candidates from Nepal or Bhutan may be required to produce a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

SSC CPO Educational Qualification 2026

For SI in Delhi Police and SI (GD) in CAPFs

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification.
  • Candidates appearing for their final examination may also apply, subject to fulfilling the prescribed qualification requirement by the closing date specified in the notification.

For SI (Fire) in CISF

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised university or equivalent; OR
  • Matriculation plus a 3-year diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Automobile, Chemical, Mining, Aeronautical, Telecommunication Engineering or an equivalent discipline.

Driving Licence Requirement for Delhi Police SI

  • For male candidates applying for SI in Delhi Police, a valid Driving Licence for Light Motor Vehicle (LMV), covering motorcycle and car, is required on the date specified for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT).
  • Male candidates who do not have the required LMV driving licence are eligible for SI posts in CAPFs, subject to meeting the other eligibility requirements.

SSC CPO Age Limit 2026

The age limit is calculated as on 01 August 2026.

For Posts Other Than SI Fire in CISF

  • The prescribed age limit is 20 to 25 years.
  • Candidates should have been born between 02 August 2001 and 01 August 2006, subject to applicable age relaxation.
