Height Relaxation: Height relaxation of 2 cm is available for specified categories/regions, while 3 cm relaxation is applicable to eligible Scheduled Tribe candidates, subject to submission of the prescribed certificate.

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed medical requirements and should not have conditions such as knock knees, flat feet or squint that may affect their ability to perform the duties.

LASIK & Eye Surgery Rules

LASIK surgery may be accepted only when the candidate satisfies the prescribed medical conditions, including the required period after surgery, age, axial length, corneal thickness, pre-LASIK error, vision and retinal health.

Radial Keratotomy (RK) and other non-permitted refractive surgeries are not allowed.

Tattoo Rules

Tattoos are permitted only under the prescribed conditions. Religious symbols/figures and names followed in the Indian Army may be allowed.

Permitted tattoo locations include:

  • Inner aspect of the left forearm
  • Dorsum of the hands

The tattoo must also remain within the prescribed size limit.

The Medical Officers Selection Board will prepare the merit list based on the aggregate marks obtained in the interview. Separate merit lists are prepared for SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and EWS candidates as applicable.
