1. Super Specialist Medical Officer – Second-in-Command

• MBBS degree or equivalent from a recognized medical institution.
• Valid registration with a State Medical Register.
• Completed the required compulsory rotating internship.
• Relevant Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in the concerned specialty.
• DM/M.Ch. or equivalent qualification in the concerned super-specialty.

The ITBP CAPF MOSB Medical Officer Selection Process 2026 includes Documentation, Interview, Physical Standard Test (PST), Medical Examination Test (MET) and preparation of the final merit list. 1. Documentation

Candidates called for the interview must bring the e-Admit Card, original documents and one set of self-attested copies of the required certificates.

2. Interview – 200 Marks

The ITBP CAPF MOSB Medical Officer Interview carries a total of 200 marks.

The interview assesses the candidate’s:

3. Physical Standard Test (PST)

Candidates qualifying in the interview will undergo the Physical Standard Test (PST).

Height Relaxation: Height relaxation of 2 cm is available for specified categories/regions, while 3 cm relaxation is applicable to eligible Scheduled Tribe candidates, subject to submission of the prescribed certificate.

Candidates failing to meet the required physical standards may appeal to the designated appellate authority on the same day through the PST Board.

4. Medical Examination Test (MET)

• Candidates who qualify the PST will undergo the Medical Examination Test (MET) conducted by a duly constituted Medical Board of CAPFs & Assam Rifles.
• Candidates are declared FIT or UNFIT according to the prescribed medical standards.
• Candidates declared unfit may request a Review Medical Examination (RME) by providing written consent within 24 hours of being informed of their unfitness.

Basic Medical Standards

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed medical requirements and should not have conditions such as knock knees, flat feet or squint that may affect their ability to perform the duties.

LASIK & Eye Surgery Rules

LASIK surgery may be accepted only when the candidate satisfies the prescribed medical conditions, including the required period after surgery, age, axial length, corneal thickness, pre-LASIK error, vision and retinal health.

Radial Keratotomy (RK) and other non-permitted refractive surgeries are not allowed.

Tattoo Rules

Tattoos are permitted only under the prescribed conditions. Religious symbols/figures and names followed in the Indian Army may be allowed.

Permitted tattoo locations include:

• Inner aspect of the left forearm
• Dorsum of the hands

The tattoo must also remain within the prescribed size limit.

5. Final Merit List

The Medical Officers Selection Board will prepare the merit list based on the aggregate marks obtained in the interview. Separate merit lists are prepared for SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and EWS candidates as applicable.
