RCF Kapurthala Apprentice Qualification 2026
Candidates must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) or its equivalent examination under the 10+2 system from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
In addition to the 10th qualification, candidates must possess a valid National Trade Certificate (NTC) in the relevant notified trade. The NTC should be issued by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT).
Therefore, candidates should have:
- Passed 10th Class/Matriculation or equivalent under the 10+2 system.
- Secured at least 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
- Possessed an NTC in the relevant trade.
- The NTC must be issued by NCVT.
- The qualification must be from a recognized institution/board as applicable.
RCF Apprentice CGPA to Percentage Calculation
If the candidate’s Class 10th result is given in CGPA instead of percentage, the percentage will be calculated using the prescribed conversion formula:
Percentage = CGPA × 9.5
Example:
If a candidate has obtained a CGPA of 7.4, the equivalent percentage will be:
7.4 × 9.5 = 70.3%
Thus, a CGPA of 7.4 is equivalent to 70.3% for the purpose of calculating eligibility, subject to the applicable rules.
How is Merit Percentage Calculated?
For candidates whose merit is prepared using both Matriculation and ITI marks, the average of the percentage obtained in Class 10th and ITI is considered.
Merit Percentage = (10th Percentage + ITI Percentage) ÷ 2
Example:
If a candidate has scored:
- 10th: 70%
- ITI: 80%
The average will be:
(70 + 80) ÷ 2 = 75%
Therefore, the candidate’s merit percentage would be 75%.

RCF Kapurthala Apprentice Merit List
The merit list is prepared by taking the simple average of the percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation and ITI/NTC in the relevant trade.

- The older candidate is given preference.
- If the date of birth is also the same, the candidate who passed Matriculation earlier is preferred.
Trade-Wise and Community-Wise Merit List
A separate trade-wise and community-wise merit list is prepared in descending order of merit. Candidates are shortlisted according to the number of available apprenticeship slots in each trade and category.
